Want to Join the Project Team?
Running continuously since 1974, the Umm Al-Jimāl Project is highly active and there are numerous ways to get involved. One major initiative is supplementing and converting analog research data into a comprehensive, digital archive of work completed at the site. On site, sustainable community development is a primary current focus for the project and its partners.
Research: Scholars and graduate students—from a variety of disciplines—interested in collaborating with or becoming part of ongoing international research at Umm Al-Jimāl are encouraged to get in touch. This includes students looking for material culture or data for their Masters or PhD studies.
Fieldwork: The Umm Al-Jimāl Project periodically has conducted archaeological field schools in conjunction with Calvin University since 1977. You do not need to be a Calvin student to join, or even a student, to join. Contact us for more information.
