Local Cultural Traditions

Life on the Hauran plain has continued from ancient times down to today. This group of short films explores several aspects of life in northern Jordan, a mix of 21st-century changes and lively traditions. From how to make shirak bread over an open fire to listening to a rababa, a traditional stringed instrument, this video collection captures some of the daily tasks and traditions still alive in Umm Al-Jimāl and other towns in the southern Hauran region.
